Cirque du Soleil has a new show in the heart of Waikiki.

Hula dancer Oriana Mahealani Lulu grew up on Oahu and joins her husband, Faafetai Lulu, on stage as part of Cirque du Soleil’s ’Auana, which debuted at the Outrigger Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel in December 2024.

“What makes this show special here at ’Auana is definitely the cultural aspect,” she said. “This is one of the first themed Cirque du Soleil shows that they had that really focuses on Hawaii and their stories.”

A day in the life for Lulu and her husband includes dropping their kids off with a babysitter and then heading to Waikiki. Dancers have two hours to do their hair and make-up and stretch before the show starts, she said. Tickets start at $85
