When was the last time you had a pizza slice that was one-sixth the size of a regular pizza?

Open since 2011, Slice of Waikīkī used to have a small pizza window on Kūhiō Avenue. If you were walking by the Waikīkī Malia, chances are, you’ve passed it.

Last November, the pizza shop moved to its new home on Seaside Avenue — not far from its former location — and it’s close to Ross. This location is bigger — there are a few tables outside for customers to eat at, and more importantly, it has a larger kitchen.

As its name implies, this pizza biz is known for its larger-than-life slices. You can buy pizzas by the slice ($8-$9.75, depending on the flavor) or the whole pie ($40-$47).

Cheese and pepperoni continue to be crowd favorites, but other flavors include Fours — tomato sauce, mozzarella, spinach, tomatoes mushrooms and garlic — Pops (tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, Italian sausage, ham and bacon) and Publics. The latter is similar to a Supreme and includes tomato sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, Italian sausage, ham, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms and black olives.

No matter what pizza flavor you order, all ‘zas come with a twisted crust. All whole pizzas are 18 inches and take about 10 minutes to cook. Customers often order two flavors in a whole pie for variety.

Ask about the daily pizza special, or the rotating flavor of the day. During our visit, it was Hawaiian and spicy Hawaiian. The latter came with pepperoni, pineapples and jalapenos.

Customers can also choose the “build your own pie” option ($45), which features an  18-inch pizza with up to four toppings and cut in eight or 12 slices.

If you’re there during lunch, take advantage of Slice of Waikīkī’s new lunch promotion: If you order a slice of cheese or pepperoni pizza from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., you can get a free drink.

While you’re probably there for pizza, the biz offers several appetizers. Choose from six- or 12-piece chicken wings ($15 or $25, respectively) with sauces like housemade ranch, bleu cheese, spicy aioli and spicy Hawaiian barbecue ($1.50 each). Besides the homemade ranch, the spicy Hawaiian barbecue is a crowd favorite, but be forewarned — it packs some heat.

Slice of Waikīkī currently has no phone number, but you can order online via Door Dash.
