After a little more than a year, this McCully eatery has reopened.

On Jan. 3, 2024, Oh My Grill Hawai‘i’s McCully location closed due to a fire. About a little more than a year later, the restaurant — boasting a completely renovated interior — reopened quietly on Jan. 19.

Everything from the flooring to the seating is completely new, according to restaurant owner JJ Lee. However, the eatery’s menu remains the same, complete with customer favorite deals like its regular chicken katsu plate ($9.99), wagyu burger ($7.99) and New York steak special ($9.99). The latter is a discounted special that’s served at that price until 11 a.m.

The chicken katsu plate is one of the eatery’s most popular dishes. It’s a generous portion for the price, and the gloriously crispy chicken never disappoints.

If you order the New York steak special before 11 a.m., you can enjoy it at the discounted price of $9.99. Lee says the price will probably increase slightly after the eatery’s grand opening (date still to be determined).

The barbecue mixed plate is a hefty combo ($16.99) that could probably stretch for two meals. It includes barbecue chicken, barbecue short rib and teri beef. Oh My Grill’s Oh My Pac ($12.99) — comprising two fried shrimps, teri beef, mochiko chicken and rice with furikake — is another customer favorite.

Besides plate lunches, the eatery offers pastas — ranging from garlic shrimp and mentaiko ($18.50) to teri beef saimin ($8.99) — stir-fries and seafood dishes (shrimp curry, garlic fish fillets and more). Its garlic ‘ahi ($12.25 mini, $15.85 regular) is a McCully exclusive.

If you have a late-night dessert craving — after all, the eatery is open until 1 a.m. daily — choose from options like Hawaii acai bowl ($12.99) or fried ice cream ($5.75).
