Everyone’s looking to save money and get the most bang for their buck. This series where show you where you can save while still savoring a good meal.

Located in the 808 Center, Sushi Murayama might be difficult to find if you don’t know what you’re looking for. Head to the third floor and go past Café Lapin; you’ll see the eatery’s dark glass doors (there’s no sign above it).

Last May, the eatery started offering mini seafood bowls, or donburi, for takeout; they continue to be a hit with customers. The mini donburi — which are about half the price of the regular-sized ones — cost anywhere from $8.50 to $17.50, depending on how luxe your bowl is.

There are several tables located outside of the restaurant, where customers can leisurely enjoy their to-go meal.

The mini donburi selection is huge and includes options like unagi ($15.50), grilled hamachi belly ($17.50), garlic poke ($15.50), red shrimp poke ($16.50), tamago ($8.50) and more.

The mini spicy tuna ($14) is the most popular one; we also tried shrimp tempura and mayo tobiko ($15.50), salmon and ikura ($16.50) and maguro garlic miso ($17.50). The salmon and ikura was my favorite because of the crunchy texture from the popping ikura.

All bowls come with sushi rice or white rice, but you can upgrade to wagyu rice for an additional $2. The rice is rich, savory and buttery; after trying it, I wished I had upgraded all of the bowls to include it.
