Located in Lilia Waikīkī, Kamukura Surf & Dine’s lunch sets have been available since the eatery opened last summer; however, I only recently had a chance to try them recently.

The eatery’s lunch sets are available from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every day except Sunday. It includes your choice of entrée and a side dish for $18; customers can choose from a pre-set list.

If you’re looking for the best value, opt for the Oishi ramen as your entrée. The ramen includes Napa cabbage, pork and two pieces of roasted char siu. The bowl featured on the lunch set is the same portion size as the a la carte ramen offering (which costs $18 in and of itself).

Other entrée choices include shrimp tempura rolls, Kamukura fried rice and spicy chicken karaage.

Side dish options include Kamukura gyoza, chicken karaage, fresh salad, Japanese premium rice and French fries. I’m partial to the chicken karaage, but the gyoza is a customer favorite.

The lunch sets are about $15 after the kamaʻāina discount. Not bad for Waikīkī!

The eatery recently just launched a Sunday brunch menu, available every week from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Customers can enjoy live music from a DJ every Sunday during brunch; the eatery will also feature a drag queen event once a month.

The brunch selection includes dishes like garlic shrimp fried rice ($18.50), a fresh cronut and mini acai bowl ($18) and bacon Kamu-moco ($20). The latter is the eatery’s twist on a traditional loco moco, and features a washugyu beef patty with beef gravy that’s infused with the signature Oishi ramen broth.
