The NFL's Los Angeles Rams are coming to Maui.
On Monday, the Los Angeles Rams and the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority (HTA) announced a partnership to promote tourism in Maui and Hawai‘i.
From June 16-19, the Rams will hold a "Mauicamp." On June 17 and June 18, members of the Rams will have on-field activities at War Memorial Stadium in Wailuku.
“We are thrilled to return to Hawai‘i and for the first time in the NFL bring Minicamp (sic) to Maui,” Los Angeles Rams president Kevin Demoff said in a press release. “Los Angeles and Hawai‘i share a special relationship and we are grateful to HTA for teaming with us for this historic partnership. Not only will this trip be a great opportunity for our players, coaches and their families to spend time together in a special setting, but also for our organization to celebrate and pour into youth football programs and players who call Maui home.”
The session on June 17 will be invite-only, while tickets for the session on June 18 will be open and free to the public, although tickets are limited and are required for entry.
Residents of Maui County will have the first chance to reserve tickets on Friday at 10 a.m. HST at this link. If tickets remain, they will be available at this link on May 22 at 7 a.m. HST.
The Rams will participate in a variety of community events on Maui during their stay, including the rebuilding of four houses in Lahaina. Additionally, a flag football clinic will be held for 400 boys and girls following the June 17 practice session.
On June 18, a PLAY 60 Field Day session will be held for local kids aged 5 to 12 who were involved in the County of Maui’s Play and Learn Sessions Summer program (PALS).
In the aftermath of the 2023 Maui wildfires the Rams raised approximately $150,000 towards relief efforts by selling custom “Mālama Maui" shirts.
“This new partnership we are kicking off honors long-standing fandom for the LA Rams by many Hawai‘i residents and is sure to build even more fan loyalty in the islands,” said Hawai‘i Gov. Josh Green. “We are super excited to welcome, along with the Hawai‘i Tourism Authority, the Rams Minicamp to Maui. Back in 2019, the Rams played in front of the largest crowd in Aloha Stadium history and engaged with our local communities, and we remain connected to this day. Rams players will feel the warm aloha and hospitality of our islands once again, and in turn, the team will uplift members of the community that have endured so much since the 2023 Maui Wildfires.”
