For the second straight year, the University of Hawai‘i water polo team was eliminated in the NCAA semifinals, falling 13-4 to No. 1 Stanford.

The Rainbow Wahine's 2025 campaign ended at 22-5, marking the end of head coach James Robinson's debut season at the helm of the program.

"All the credit in the world to the young women on this team," Robinson said following the contest. "It's a grind every single day and they did everything we asked of them. All you can ask for is to be put in a position to achieve goals and they did that every single day this year and I couldn't be more proud of them."

Stanford (24-1) was relentless offensively on Saturday night, jumping out to a 3-0 lead. The Cardinal maintained a torrid pace, leading as much as 11-2 in the third quarter. Jenna Flynn had a match-high six goals for the Cardinal, who will face USC for the championship.

Bernadette Doyle, Ema Vernoux and Jordan Wedderburn scored for the Rainbow Wahine.

The Rainbow Wahine were playing their second match in Indianapolis in as many days after defeating California 8-7 on Friday.

The 'Bows have yet to make an NCAA championship match but return a bevy of underclassmen in 2026, led by Vernoux, the team's leading scorer as a true freshman in 2025.
