To celebrate the re-opening of Kith Treats SoHo flagship store in New York City today, the dessert shop — in collaboration with renowned Dominique Ansel Bakery — is launching a new treat that’s only available for this weekend at all Kith Treats locations nationwide.

The Metropolitan is a new, limited-edition version of Dominique Ansel Bakery’s famous Cronut pastry, which is also celebrating its 12th birthday. The mystery flavor was just revealed yesterday, and is inspired by Kith’s mantra of “New York to the World.”
The Metropolitan features a cookies and cream ganache paired with salted potato chip ganache, and, according to chef Dominique Ansel’s Instagram post, is “inspired by those late-night deli runs and what keeps so many cities going across the country.”
Kith Treats’ dessert ($11) features vanilla ice cream infused with pieces of the Cronut, crushed Oreos and potato chips, is drizzled with a potato chip ganache and cookies and cream ganache, and is garnished with a Dominique Ansel Cronut piece and topped with Maldon salt. It’s the perfect balance of sweet and savory — just like eating a chocolate-covered potato chip.

The Metropolitan limited-edition ice cream special is available at Kith Treats’ Honolulu store (at Royal Hawaiian Center) in limited quantities this weekend on a first-come, first-serve basis.
