I had passed by WICKED HI’s food truck the last few times I drove to Hale‘iwa. Its menu — comprising sourdough pizzas and honey slushies — intrigued me, so I made it a point to stop by one weekday to try them for lunch.

WICKED HI’s food truck has been in business since 2023, according to co-owners Zach and Heidi Vance, who says they have been its owners for the past year.
“We actually bought the business from the former owners last year,” Heidi Vance says. “Sourdough requires daily nurturing and care, as well as a fermentation process that is more of an art form than just mixing ingredients together. Our pizza is made up of high-quality ingredients; our customers love it, and sourdough makes for a unique and delicious pizza.”

Pizza flavors range from margherita ($20.99) and meat lover ($21.99) to a veggie pizza ($21.99) and honey goat ($21.99). Margherita and honey goat are especially popular. I’m partial to the latter — which features roasted garlic aioli, local basil, local cherry tomatoes, fior di latte mozzarella, goat cheese and local honey — because there’s a hearty portion of goat cheese (which I love), along with a nice sweet-and-savory balance.
“We utilize local and distinct Hawaiian flavors in many of our pizzas, which meets the needs of our loyal customers,” Vance says. “The local honey is from a beekeeping farm on the Big Island, and is shipped here in large quantities each month.”

Be sure to save room for dessert. The honey slushies are made with fresh fruits and are sweetened with raw local honey — no refined sugar or dairy is used.
Choose from three sizes — keiki ($5), small ($7.50) and large ($8.50). Even if you choose the small size, rest assured that it’s a substantial portion.
Pina colada features fresh pineapple, coconut cream and raw local honey, while dragon fruit lemonade is made with pink dragon fruit, fresh-squeezed lemons and raw local honey. The pina colada flavor is slightly sweeter, while dragon fruit lemonade is more tart and refreshing.
WICKED HI previously had a café in Waialua that closed recently, but the business is actively looking for its next location, according to Vance. Customers can still find WICKED HI at the Farm Lovers market in Kakaʻako on Saturdays (8 a.m. to noon) and in Kailua on Sundays (8 a.m. to noon).
“On a monthly basis, we are at various markets and events across the island,” Vance says. “We also offering catering for both our pizza, slush and salads around the islands, and are booking weddings, events, graduations, company parties and birthdays for 2025.”
