Friday, June 6

Night//Shift: Summer Rising: Shop, eat and listen to music in the sculpture garden at Capitol Modern through its Summer Solstice event, Night//Shift: Summer Rising, a First Friday event co-hosted by Shangri La.  Enjoy live music from headliners Johnny Suite and Irie Love on Friday, June 6.  Chef Kealoha Domingo, the founder of Nui Kealoha and a regularly featured chef at the Hawaiʻi Food and Wine Festival, will have culinary snacks at The Café. Art + Flea will also have more than 20 vendors selling fashion, art and locally made goods on the Grand Lanai. RSVP and details.  

Saturday, June 7

Magic. Check out Waikīkī’s Magical Parlour, where Magic Lee and guest magicians take the stage to surprise their audiences. (See our profile of Magic Lee here.) The space soft opened May 1. The guest magician this week is Joan Dukore, who attended Punahou School while living on Oʻahu and is now based in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ice cream. Hammond’s Ice Cream is holding the grand opening for its new location at the Koko Marina Shopping Center in Hawaiʻi Kai. The event starts at 12 p.m. and the first 25 people in line when the doors open will get free ice cream. Keiki can get glitter tattoos between noon and 3 p.m. as part of the event. There will also be chances to win custom art work from Illuminated Art Hawaiʻi and Kristy Vascovich. Other prizes include crocheted ice cream totes and a chance to win free ice cream for a year.
