If you love truffles, this pasta deal is worth the drive to Waikīkī.
Taormina Sicilian Cuisine — known for its authentic Italian flavors made with seasonal and locally sourced ingredients — is offering 50% off its signature truffle carbonara until June 30. The popular pasta is now $34 instead of market price; the discount is available during both lunch and dinner.
The eatery is promoting its seasonal summer truffles through this discount. The truffle carbonara features fresh spaghetti with pancetta and mixed mushrooms, and is finished with a poached egg and seasonal truffles that are shaved tableside.
The carbonara is rich, creamy and indulgent, with a generous amount of truffle shavings. It’s ideal for any cheese lover.
Customers can also get the truffle carbonara in risotto form. The risotto ($34) is also topped with a poached egg and the truffles are shaved tableside.
The restaurant will be featuring a mango panna cotta ($18) that will be available starting today, June 3. The jiggly panna cotta is topped with Haden mangoes and a candied almond crunch.
“It’s a summer dessert — underneath has an almond coconut sauce and Hawaiian Haden mangoes,” says executive chef Hiroyuki “Hiro” Mimura.
Taormina Sicilian Cuisine also offers a 20% kama‘āina discount (but the 50% discounted truffle carbonara cannot be combined with other offers). Customers can take enjoy complimentary valet parking at Embassy Suites Waikīkī between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. with a minimum $10 purchase.
