On the hunt for a new oceanfront home?

Starting Saturday, you can tour new model homes at Kekainani, a collection of 32 luxury, oceanfront residences within Hoakalei Resort in ‘Ewa Beach.

With construction — and sales — already underway, this is a chance for buyers to have an in-person look at the three floor plans available in what the developer says is the final phase of single-family homes at Hoakalei, a 726-acre master-planned resort community being developed by Haseko Development, Inc., on former sugar cane lands.

"Kekainani adds a new level of luxury homeownership to West O‘ahu, with ocean-view homes in a resort setting," Duane Nishimura, director, sales and marketing for Haseko Development, Inc., said in a statement provided to Aloha State Daily. "Buyers include local families looking to move up, kamaʻāina returning home, and out-of-state buyers seeking a connection to Hawai‘i. Opening the model homes is an exciting step, as it allows people to experience firsthand the quality, space and lifestyle Kekainani offers.”

According to a recent announcement from the developer, floor plans include the ‘Ilima, a single-level, 3-bedroom, 3.5-bath home totaling 2,436 square feet; Pohinahina, a two-story, 5-bedroom, 4.5-bath home spanning more than 4,000 square feet of living space; and Naupaka, a 5-bed, 5.5-bath home totaling more than 4,100 square feet.

Homes in this phase are priced from approximately $2.5 million to the high $3 millions, the announcement noted.

Three of the Kekainani homes are currently in escrow, a representative for the developer told ASD in an email, adding that the first closing of a home there is expected later this year, with homeowners moving in shortly after.

Lots in the development are being released in phases. You can find those listings here.

There are currently four residential neighborhoods within the resort: Kuapapa at Hoakalei, which has 350 three- to five-bedroom one- and two-story homes; Lei Pauku at Hoakalei, which has 72 three-bedroom townhomes; Kīpuka at Hoakalei, a gated community with 131 four-bedroom homes; and Ka Makana at Hoakalei, a 140-acre private resort community with a mix of one- and two-story single-family home and townhomes.

To date, the about 82% of the homes allowed to be constructed under the resort's entitlements have been built, with about 900 homes left to go, the representative noted.

At Hoakalei, you'll also find a private Ernie Els-designed golf course at Hoakalei Country Club, and Wai Kai, a waterfront recreation venue that offers dining and retail opportunities and other events, along with the Wai Kai Wave, the state's first stationary deep-water surf wave, and a 52-acre lagoon with other water activities.

The model homes and sales office can be found at 91-1421 Halili Street in ‘Ewa Beach and will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. For more information or to schedule a tour, visit Kekainani.com.
