Live music. Enjoy live music from some of Hawai’i’s most celebrated musicians, including Kapena, Henry Kapono, Big Every Time and Seven Suns at Ala Moana Center. Blood Bank of Hawaiʻi will also host a community blood drive, which runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a bloodmobile located at the Atkinsons Trolley Depot on the street level. In partnership with the Henry Kapono Foundation, the ʻEwa Wing will feature artists from the nonprofit’s On The Rise Program. The schedule of talent includes: 11 a.m. J.Lyn, 1 p.m. Lovejack, 3 p.m. Duva, and 5 p.m. Rickey Kamai. Free.

More music. Polynesian Cultural Center will have activities for keiki as well as ‘ono eats from local vendors at its Hukilau Marketplace. The activities start at 4 p.m. and include live entertainment from Boso Uso, North Kingdom, Natural Vibrations and Ekolu. Food and beverages are available for purchase. Cars can park in the Brigham Young University - Hawai’i parking lot. Umbrellas, chairs, blankets and mats are allowed, but no pop-up tents are permitted. The evening ends at 9 p.m. with a fireworks show. Free.
Rodeo and horse races. Just a quick island hop flight away from Oʻahu, the Waimea-based Parker Ranch will host its 61st annual rodeo and horse races. This year, the event celebrates three retirees: Keoki Liana, Tsuruo Nakata and Zen Fujii. New this year are two jumbo screens, provided with support from the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement, which will feature replays and interviews with paniolo. Event is rain or shine. Tickets are $10, if purchased in advance at Kamuela Hardwoods, Paniolo Preservation Society or Waimea Butcher Shop. Online tickets are $12 plus fees and taxes. Tickets at the door are $15. Details.
Pearl Harbor tours. Pacific Historic Parks is offering free USS Arizona Admiral VIP Tours at the Pearl Harbor National Memorial to active duty, reserve and retired military personnel and their families during Independence Day weekend, from Friday, July 4, through Sunday, July 6. Normally, tickets are $43.99 for adults and $31.99 for keiki. Valid military ID must be presented at check-in at the USS Arizona Narrated Tour Desk, located in the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center courtyard. The promotion does not include the USS Arizona Memorial boat program, which takes visitors to the floating memorial. Those tickets must be reserved separately for $1 at recreation.gov.
A pool party. Tiki’s Grill & Bar, located at The Twin Fin Hotel is hosting a July 4 themed pool party. The event includes pool access and music from two DJs. Purchase of a cabana ($197.07) or day bed ($169.19), which each seat up to five people, include a party pack cooler of White Claw seltzers and a Hawaiian barbecue plate meal for each person.
