‘Ahi cutting shows are coming to Kailua

Tokyo Central Hawaiʻi will be featuring a few ʻahi cutting shows in July. The first one is Friday, July 4, at 10 a.m.

Talk about fresh fish.

Located in Kailua, Tokyo Central Hawaiʻi is featuring a few ‘ahi cutting shows during July. The first one is Friday, July 4.

Future dates include July 12, 19 and 26. All shows will start at 10 a.m.

A Japanese specialty market, Tokyo Central is known for its variety of snacks, bakery treats and grocery items. It’s part of the Pan Pacific Retail Management Hawaiʻi’s family of stores, which includes Don Quijota USA, Marukai Hawaiʻi and Times Supermarket, to name a few.

The ‘ahi cutting demonstration takes about 30 minutes. Tokyo Central staff will prepare fresh, local, ‘ahi poke, along with sashimi and ‘ahi steaks.

The poke will be for sale following the ‘ahi cutting. Fresh poke options include ginger wasabi, masago wasabi, spicy ‘ahi, limu ‘ahi and salt and onion.
