Debo was found abandoned outside the shelter back in February, the Maui Humane Society said. "At first, [he] was really scared and didn’t know who to trust — but with time, kindness and tasty treats, [he] started to come out of [his] shell."
Now, his little tail nub wags with joy when he goes for walks, plays with toys, or hangs out with his favorite people, according to the nonprofit.
"[He's] even made some doggy friends in playgroups! [He's] still looking for that special ʻohana who will be patient with [him] as [he continues] to build confidence" and "feel safe, be understood and never be left behind again."
