No “spammy” news here — L&L Hawaiian Barbecue is celebrating its fifth annual National Spam Musubi Day on Friday, Aug. 8. Customers can take advantage of a free Spam musubi at participating stores across the country.
Customers can get one free Spam musubi from noon to 2 p.m. local time on Aug. 8 at participating L&L stores. Keep an eye out for additional musubi specials after 2 p.m. at select locations (offerings may vary by location).
The date for the food holiday — 8/08 — pays homage to Hawaiʻi’s 808 area code.
Fun fact: More than 6.2 million musubi are sold annually at L&L. That’s about 17,000 musubi daily across all of the brand’s stores. Eddie Flores Jr. and Johnson Kam, founders of L&L Hawaiian Barbecue, added the Spam musubi to the business’s continental U.S. menu in 1999.
