Rep. Ed Case announced Tuesday he will run for re-election for a seventh term.

Case is currently serving his fourth term representing Hawai‘i's First District, which encompasses urban Honolulu. He was elected to his seat in 2019 after a 12-year hiatus from politics; previously, he had represented Hawai‘i's Second District, which encompasses the rest of the state, from 2002 to 2007.

If reelected, Case will also serve a fifth term on the House Committee on Appropriations.

“Our country and world face immense challenges that demand strong, smart leadership to defend our democracy and deliver real solutions,” Case said in a statement. “Our Hawai‘i especially needs experienced representation on Capitol Hill that knows how to get things done for us in Washington, D.C. Over my decade now of serving Hawai‘i in Congress, I’ve worked hard to deliver that leadership.”

No challenger has since announced their candidacy for the First District.
