Watch “Chief of War.” Want to enjoy a night in? Turn on “Chief of War,” which stars Jason Momoa, and premieres Aug. 1 on Apple TV+. The series features the story of Kaʻiana, played by Momoa, as he tries to unify the Islands before Western colonization in the late 18th century. The first two episodes drop Aug. 1, with an additional episode appearing every Friday through Sept. 19. The show was written and executive produced by Momoa and Thomas Pa‘a Sibbett (known for “Braven” in 2018, “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” in 2023, and “The Last Manhunt” in 2022, which also star Momoa). The cast features Luciane Buchanan, Temuera Morrison, Te Ao o Hinepehinga, Cliff Curtis, Kaina Makua, Moses Goods, Siua Ikale‘o, Brandon Finn, James Udom, Mainei Kinimaka and Te Kohe Tuhaka, along with executive producer and showrunner Doug Jung, executive producer and director Justin Chon, and executive producers Jim Rowe, Brian Andrew Mendoza, Jenno Topping and Tracey Cook, according to representatives of Apple TV+.

Korean Festival. Check out K-pop performances, as well as eating contests and cooking demonstrations at the 21st Annual Korean Festival Hawaiʻi. An estimated 25,000 people are expected to attend the event. The one-day event runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Stage entertainment will feature the Arang Go Go Janggu Team, Hawaii-based K-pop dance groups, Taekwondo Hawaiʻi, Korean Farmers Music Association, Halla Huhm, and others. There will also be food stalls offering kimchi, Korean pancake, kalbi, mandoo, and more. Events include a cooking demonstration featuring Chef Andre Rush. Free parking is available at Honolulu Hale. Bloom Garden & Art Festival. Honolulu Maker’s Market is hosting its Bloom Garden & Art Festival. Buy plants, handmade pottery and more and enjoy educational booths. The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2 and Sunday, Aug. 3, at The Barn within Salt at Our Kakaʻako, located at 327 Keawe St. in Honolulu.
Sunday, Aug. 3
Nā Hula Festival. Catch hula performances, as well as music at the 84th Annual Nā Hula Festival at Kapiʻolani Regional Park. The all-day event starts at 9 a.m. with a performance from the Royal Hawaiian Band, followed by Hālau Nā Pua Hala Kūnou i ke Kai, Puanani Alama Hula Studio, Lei Queen Kuʻuleialoha Llanos with Lei Princesses Pualeilani Kamahoahoa and Xian Pomare, Hālau Hula o Pua ‘A‘ala Hone and Hula Hui o Kapunahala. Performances run until 2 p.m. Admission is free.
