A brunch deal featuring $1 mimosas seems too good to be true. But this is the latest offering from Texas de Brazil, the all-you-can-eat Brazilian steakhouse located in Ala Moana Center.

The restaurant, which opened its Honolulu location in December 2023, specializes in churrasco-style dining, where servers (called gauchos) bring cuts of meat to your table and carve them tableside.

The $1 mimosa deal starts Aug. 16 during weekend brunch (11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays only). Choose from mimosa flavors like strawberry, mango, orange, lilikoʻi and pineapple. We’re told mimosas will usually cost $9, so this is a deal.

Locals can take advantage of a 20% off kamaʻāina discount every Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. The AYCE experience usually costs $69.99, so with the discount, it’s about $56. A valid State ID is required to get the discount, which is available for food and non-alcoholic beverages.

The salad bar features a wide variety of roasted vegetables, salads, imported cheeses and charcuterie. Feast on everything from smoked salmon and potato salad to goat cheese terrine, marinated baby beets and lobster bisque. The cheese and charcuterie — especially the prosciutto, Grana Padano cheese, and Manchego cheese — is always my favorite part.

Once you get your salad bar plate, the gauchos will come out with a variety of different meats. All meats are cooked over an open flame with natural wood charcoal. Options include filet mignon, leg of lamb, picanha (the top part of the sirloin), garlic picanha, lamb chops, bacon-wrapped chicken breast, lamb chops and more. The meats are usually cooked medium rare, so if you prefer them to be more well done, let your server know. You can also ask your server for specific meats.

We especially enjoyed the filet mignon, Parmesan drumettes and barbecued pork ribs, which were especially meaty and tender.

There’s a card at each table — red on one side, green on the other — so you can signal for more meats (green side) and when you want the gauchos to pass you by (red side).

Each table also gets complimentary house-baked cheese bread, garlic mashed potatoes and fried bananas.

Desserts are available a la carte and cost around $13 each. Your server will come by with a sample tray of the different options.

The selection includes bananas foster pie, carrot cake, key lime pie, crème brulee, pecan pie, passion fruit mousse, Brazilian cheesecake, chocolate mousse cake and more.

The chocolate mousse cake and Brazilian cheesecake are the most popular desserts. While we enjoyed the Brazilian cheesecake, it’s on the richer side, so a few bites were sufficient to satisfy our craving for something sweet.
