Everyone’s looking to save money and get the most bang for their buck. This series will show you where you can save while still savoring a good meal.
At the end of July, Korean eatery Choi’s Garden announced on social media that it was offering a $5.99 cold noodle special during lunch for a limited time. The restaurant is known for its authentic Korean flavors and yakiniku experience.
We headed to the restaurant as soon as we could to try the special — after all, no set date was posted on social media.
You can get cold noodles or spicy cold noodles for $5.99 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. This deal is for dine-in only. When we recently went to Choi’s Garden during lunch, we were told there is no set end date for the special.
The cold noodles usually cost $14.95 and the spicy cold noodles are usually $15.95. Of the two, the cold noodles are more popular. The cold noodles are topped with cucumbers and a half a boiled egg. We loved the noodles’ texture and the chilled broth’s refreshing, slightly tangy flavor.
The spicy cold noodles, called bibim naengmyeon, features a spicy, Gochujang-based sauce. It’s ideal if you’re looking for a dish with some heat. Toppings include Korean radish, cucumbers and half a boiled egg.
You’re still served complimentary banchan of the day. Ours included kimchi, cucumber and bean sprouts.
