Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice soft-opened its new Waikīkī store. The store, located on Seaside Avenue — close to Hyatt Centric Waikīkī Beach (in the former space of a Jamba Juice) — marks the business’s 15th location and fourth one on Oʻahu. The biz recently opened another store in Waimānalo this past June.

The store’s grand opening is at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4. Attendees can look forward to a blessing and hula performance.

The business is known for using high-quality ingredients, including syrups using pure cane sugar and all-natural purees, along with 100% ultra-purified water. The biz also features the gourmet line of Roselani Ice Cream.

The menu at this store is mostly the same as those featured at the other locations. However, only the Kapahulu, Pearl City and Waikīkī stores offer a variety of special combos ($8.99 keiki size, $9.99 original size). These combinations include strawberry short cake — strawberry and leche with a cheese cap, strawberry drizzle and graham cracker topping — lilikoʻi cheesecake (lilikoi and coconut with cheese cap and mochi) and almond joy, a creamy concoction of chocolate, coconut, almond, haupia cream and mochi.

Customers are welcome to create-their-own shave ice ($7.29 keiki size, $8.29 ‘ulu size) with up to three flavors — ranging from mango and vanilla to more unique options like li hing mui, grape and sour apple — or choosing from Ululani’s pre-set combos. Customer favorites include Hawaiian rainbow (strawberry, pineapple and vanilla), Sunset Beach (passion orange, mango and guava) and Haleakala (leche and coconut with a snow cap).

Toppings like fresh mochi ($1.50), haupia cream ($1.35), toasted coconut ($1.35) and lychee jelly ($1.25) are available for an additional charge.
