Sweet streets ahead: your trick-or-treating guide

Halloween is just around the corner, Friday, Oct. 31. Aloha State Daily mapped out your next trick-or-treating spots on Oʻahu leading up to the spook-tacular holiday.

Trunk or Treat in the Park

Address: Ho'ae'ae Community Park | 94-709 Ka‘aholo Street

Details: Keiki can walk between cars in the parking lot of the Hoʻaeʻae Community Park and trick-or-treat. There will also be carnival games. The parking lot will be closed from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. that day.

The event is free but, registration is recommended, here.

When: 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24

FaBOOlous Frolic

Address: George Fred Wright Wahiawā District Park | 1129 Kilani Ave.

Details: Keiki can wear costumes and trick-or-treat around the football field or visit booths from supporters, including the Honolulu Police Department. There will be games, a photo booth and activities. Free.

When: 5:30 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24

Cast a Spell of Halloween Magic

Address: Salt Lake Shopping Center | 848 Ala Lilikoi St.

Details: Keiki aged 12 years and under have the chance to compete in a costume contest, design their own wooden ornament, compete in the “Do Your Best Witch Laugh” contest, get a free Halloween tattoo and trick-or-treat at participating stores and restaurants.

When: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25

Halloween Spooktacular

Address: Hawaiʻi Kai Towne Center | 333 Keahole St.

Details: Bring your keiki and ʻohana in your most boo-tiful costumes for a costume contest on the Marina Docks Stage, enjoy trick-or-treating at participating merchants and spin the Hawaiʻi Kai Town Center Prize Wheel for a chance to win.

When: 3 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25

Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Trunk or Treat

Address: Navy Exchange Parking Lot | 4725 Bougainville Dr.

Details: The NEX parking lot will be transformed into a festive Halloween celebration with costume contests, live music, delicious food for purchase and of course, plenty of trunk-or-treating fun.

When: 5:30 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25

Vamp Up the Fang-tastic Fun

Address: Mililani Shopping Center | 95-390 Kuahelani Ave. and 95-221 Kipapa Dr.

Details: Keiki aged 12 years and under have the chance to compete in a costume contest, design their own suncatcher, compete in the “Show Us Your Sharpest Vampire Pose” contest, get a free Halloween tattoo and trick-or-treat at participating stores and restaurants.

When: 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 25

Center-Wide trick-or-treating

Address: Royal Hawaiian Center | 2201 Kalākaua Ave.

Details: Trick-or-treat at participating merchants. Keiki may also compete in the Keiki Halloween Costume contest – the largest in Waikīkī – from 2 to 5:15 p.m. at The Royal Grove.

When: 12 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26

Halloween trick-or-treat Fun

Address: Town Center of Mililani | 95-1249 Meheula Pkwy.

Details: Trick-or-treat at participating stores, enjoy spooky music and bubble zone. Keiki and ʻohana can compete in a costume contest and pets get the spotlight with their own costume contest and parade. Looking for a scare? Try out the Mo’o Forest Haunted House for $10 per person.

When: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26

Hallow-Zoo

Address: Honolulu Zoo | 151 Kapahulu Ave.

Details: Keiki can wear costumes and follow clues to collect stamps. The Haunted Habitat Treat Trail will feature 15 spots where keiki can trick-or-treat. Participation is included with zoo admission.

When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 26

Family-Friendly Halloween Event

Address: Hukilau Marketplace | 55-370 Kamehameha Hwy

Details: ‘Ohana Club members can enjoy a trick-or-treat Scavenger Hunt and a chance to win prizes. An ‘Ohana Club membership is free to sign-up.

When: 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Oct. 27 to 31

Halloween Candy Crawl

Address: Pearlridge Center | 98-1005 Moanalua Rd.

Details: Trick-or-treat indoors at participating stores. There is a keiki costume contest. The entertainment and costume contest is hosted by PBS Hawaiʻi while Longs Drugs is the candy sponsor.

When: 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30

Ala-Ween Spooktacular

Address: Ala Moana Center | 1450 Ala Moana Blvd.

Details: Trick-or-treat at over 100 participating stores and restaurants. There will be live entertainment, balloons and photo opportunities. Keiki and their families are invited to dress up in costumes and collect candy. The event includes a dance party hosted by The Hawaiʻi DJ as well as custom balloon creations by Adventure Balloons.

When: 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31

Halloween trick-or-treat

Address: Battleship Missouri Memorial Battleshop | 63 Cowpens St.

Details: Keiki aged 2 to 12 (accompanied by an adult) can enjoy trick-or-treating on the pier. Costumes are encouraged. Base access is required. For non-military guests, a free shuttle is available from the Pearl Harbor Visitor Center. 

When: 2:30 to 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31

Haunted Mansion

Address: McCully District Park | 831 Pumehana St.

Details: There will be games, face painting and a haunted house suitable for all ages. There will also be opportunities to trick-or-treat in the parking lot. Limited parking is available at the King William C. Lunalilo Elementary School. The parking lot of the park will be closed as it is in use for the event. High visibility clothes and lights are encouraged for traffic safety.

Trick-or-treat at Kāhala Mall

Address: Kāhala Mall | 91-5431 Kapolei Pkwy

Details: Keiki and their families can participate in trick-or-treating at participating stores and restaurants. Enjoy a live DJ in Center Court.

When: 5 to 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31

Kaukau & Kars Presents: Trunk or Treat!

Address: Ka Makana Ali'i | 91-5431 Kapolei Pkwy

Details: Attendees can explore a variety of local food trucks and retail booths while enjoying a Halloween-themed car show featuring decorated vehicles handing out candy. The event will also include a “Keiki Halloween Costume Contest,” a dedicated children’s activity area and live entertainment.

When: 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 31
