Tanaka Ramen & Izakaya is celebrating its fifth anniversary this month. The eatery, which currently has six locations across Oʻahu and Maui, opened its first Hawaiʻi location in Kapolei Marketplace during the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The business is known for its shareable izakaya dishes and rich, housemade broths.

To celebrate its fifth anniversary, the restaurant is featuring limited-time specials and giveaways from Oct. 25 to Nov. 2. Customers can enjoy $5 Sapporo, Asahi and Orion beers throughout the week. Individuals who order the volcano ramen or Tanaka rich garlic ramen may find a hidden surprise at the bottom of their bowls; prizes range from a free dessert and a free bowl of ramen to up to 50% off. Follow the eatery on social media (@tanakaramenhawaii) to see exclusive anniversary giveaways.

The eatery also recently launched two new seasonal dishes — its shoyu tori ramen ($16.99) and ebi lollipop ($9.99).

The shoyu tori ramen features a rich shio chicken broth with housemade shoyu chicken, green onions, bok choy and a half-seasoned egg served with thin noodles.
From now until the end of the year, $1 from every shoyu tori ramen sold will benefit the Fur-Angel Foundation, whose mission is to rescue and find permanent homes for Oʻahu’s unwanted and homeless dogs.

The new ebi lollipop appetizer ($9.99) features three pieces of crispy ebi cakes, which come with a housemade coconut pineapple mayo sauce.
These two seasonal dishes will be at all six of Tanaka Ramen & Izakaya’s locations in Hawaiʻi: Ala Moana Center, Kailua Town, Kapolei Marketplace, Maui Mall Village, Pearlridge Center and the Town Center of Mililani. The seasonal dishes will be available through the end of the year.
