Ready to plan your Halloween fun? Aloha State Daily has compiled a guide for Halloween that includes snacks, trick or treat plans and a haunted mansion, in addition to at least one way to celebrate Día de los Muertos.

Aloha State Daily has rounded up some activities for Día de los Muertos and Halloween fun. This weekend, there is also a Battle of the Bands and Comedians.

FRIDAY, OCT. 31 

Halloween! Looking for tasty treats? Check out this guide to Halloween treats and pumpkin-flavored snacks on Oʻahu. There is also a pop-up Ghost Bar, in the former Surfer’s Bakery space in Ala Moana Center, which runs through midnight on Friday, Oct. 31. Ready to trick or treat? Aloha State Daily has a guide for that, which includes a Haunted Mansion in McCully District Park and events at Ala Moana Center, among other activities. Haunted Plantation runs through Friday, Oct. 31. Finally, Trial of Fears runs through Sunday, Nov. 2.

SATURDAY, NOV. 1

Mom Made Market Hawaiʻi. Find gift ideas at this market held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 1 and 2 at Kāhala Mall. There will be more than 40 pop-up vendors, including Waiwaolani, Mahina and more. Details.

Discovery Fair. Leeward Community College will host its annual Discovery Fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on campus. The event includes more than 30 educational and hands-on activities, as well as entertainment. The focus of the event is to share science, technology, engineering, art and math with keiki. Phat Joe, who is part of the Keola Morning Show on 102.7 Da Bomb, will provide music and give away prizes. Magician Harvey Ouchi will also be on site with magic tricks. Free. Details.

Battle of the Bands and Comedians. Catch round three of HI93 FM Hawaiʻi’s Local Hits’ first Battle of the Bands and Comedians at 7 p.m.  at Lava Sports Bar & Grill in Kailua. The featured bands include Tehani, Joby! and Dylan Mines. The comedians will be Ian Shippen, Kanoa Morse and Pepper Lamb. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Aloha State Daily is the media sponsor of the event. One comedian and one band will win the round and advance directly to the final competition, which features five bands and five comedians. The finals will be held on Nov. 21 at The Gatsby in Kakaʻako. On Saturday, Oct. 25, HI93 FM Hawaiʻi’s Local Hits will host the second round of its Battle of the Bands and Comedians. The winners will advance straight to the finals, which will be held next month.

SUNDAY, NOV. 2

Día de los Muertos. Celebrate Día de los Muertos with special à la carte dinner that features tamales, sopes, pozole and more at Koko Head Café. The menu comes from Chef Lee Anne Wong of Koko Head Café, who will be joined by Chef Ramon German of Raíz Tortillas. There will also be handcrafted cocktails. Make reservations at KokoHeadCafe.com.
