ʻAlohilani’s new breakfast menu is ‘swell’

The Waikīkī resort’s SWELL Restaurant and Pool Bar launched a new breakfast menu in September. It’s available daily from 7 to 10 a.m. and includes options ranging from banana bread French toast and acai bowls to breakfast burritos.

The menu features a good mix of lighter fare and heartier entrees. If you want to start your morning with something refreshing, opt for the tropical fruit plate ($20) or acai bowl ($18). The latter features acai topped with assorted fruits, chia seeds, toasted coconut, granola and honey.

The French toast ($22) features housemade banana bread that’s griddled and topped with fresh bananas, rum maple syrup and pecans. This one’s more on the indulgent side, but we loved the contrasting textures of the pillowy French toast paired with the crunchy pecans.

The avocado toast ($22) is aesthetically pleasing, featuring ciabatta topped with smashed avocado, a soft boiled egg, tomato, radish and Everything Bagel spice. The spice makes it even more savory.

The Swell Cantina breakfast burrito ($21) is the perfect post-surf breakfast. It’s savory and filling, comprising fried potatoes, avocado, bacon, scrambled eggs, sausage, Jack cheese, cilantro and onions. It’s served with house salsa for dipping.

Beverage options range from coffee and tea to juices — POG, orange and pineapple — and signature cocktails. The ‘Alohilani Mai Tai ($25) and mimosas ($17) are customer favorites.
