Mōʻiliʻili-based Niu Soft Serve Parlour — known for its dairy-free ice cream — would feature warm cookie sundaes as a special every now and then.
The dessert shop just added these indulgent sundaes to its permanent menu.

The sundae ($12) comes with a warm cookie, your choice of soft serve, whipped cream, and a choice of hot fudge, condensed milk or lilikoi sauce. Choose from miso salted caramel or chocolate chip cookies; both cookies are soft and chewy, with a slightly crispy exterior.

“The most popular combo would be chocolate chip with fudge — classic,” says Aikue Napoleon-Ahn, one of the business owners of Niu Soft Serve Parlour. “A lot of people have also been getting the miso caramel cookie with condensed milk.”
Four soft serve flavors are usually available — niu (coconut) and ube (purple yam), along with two specials, which change every two weeks. During our visit, hojicha and toasted cinnamon latte were featured.
Since kūlolo is a popular topping, it’s available as an add-on (additional $2.50) for the cookie sundae.
