The Christmas Bar Hawaiʻi is now open

Tucked away within Tiki’s Grill & Bar, The Christmas Bar Hawaiʻi pop-up is open from today until Dec. 30. This year, you can look forward to more decorations, new festive drinks and — of course — lots of holiday cheer.

The Christmas Bar Hawaiʻi is back — the annual holiday pop-up is open starting today until Dec. 30.

Tucked away within Tiki’s Grill & Bar, The Christmas Bar Hawaiʻi has been in operation since 2017, according to Michael Miller, director of operations at Tiki’s Grill & Bar.

The pop-up is open from 2 to 11:30 p.m. on weekdays and from noon to 11:30 p.m. on weekends. No reservations are accepted; first-come, first-served.

The holiday pop-up is known for its festive drinks and over-the-top décor, and this year is no exception. In fact, customers can look forward to new displays, including a gingerbread house — packed with lots of photo opportunities — and a “Christmas Bar Express” section, which is supposed to mimic a Christmas luxury train.

“You’re on the train as it goes through a snowy mountain and some forests,” Miller says. “This is brand-new this year. We bring in two commercial-sized AC units to chill the place down.”

Kids are welcome at the pop-up during daylight hours, according to Miller.

Customers who have been to The Christmas Bar Hawaiʻi in previous years will spot familiar decorations, like the “Disco Frosty,” tribute to Harry Potter (look for the platform 9 3/4 sign), and “Joy” sign. We’re told this “Joy” decoration has been featured in the pop-up since its first year.

Customers can also look forward to new drinks. Of course, favorites like Butter Beer ($18), Clause-mopolitan on Ice ($19), I Dream of Gingerbread ($19) and Wonderland Sangria ($19) are returning.

New beverages include Very Merry Spritz ($22) — a combo of Prosecco, Aperol, passion fruit and pomegranate juice with a splash of soda water and garnished with rosemary, orange and cranberries — Minty Express ($19), Santa’s Nightcap ($21) and Campfire Old Fashioned ($19).

Minty Express ($19) is like the adult version of Girl Scout cookies, as it features an Oreo crumble rim, Skrewball, crème de menthe, crème de cacao and milk, complete with a whipped cream topping and cocoa dust. The Campfire Old Fashioned features Jim Beam and Skrewball stirred with cinnamon syrup and chocolate and orange bitters. It’s finished with toasted marshmallows.

Many of the cocktails are also available as mocktails.

While there’s no food listed on the menu, a charcuterie board will eventually be available. Customers can also grab a bite at Tiki’s, once they exit The Christmas Bar.

Customers can enjoy complimentary valet parking for three hours (with validation). Street parking is also available.
