Customers can get mini manapua for $1.50 each (instead of $2.25 per piece) until Dec. 20 at this recently opened Waipahu shop.

Aloha Island Manapua celebrated its grand opening on Saturday, Dec. 13. The biz opened in the former space of Honolulu Kitchen in Waipahu; Aloha Island Manapua bought the business, but the menu is mostly the same.
To celebrate its opening, Aloha Island Manapua is offering a discount on its popular mini manapua — available steamed or deep-fried — and its plate lunches for this week only.
Choose from steamed or deep-fried manapua with savory or sweet fillings, including char siu, spicy pork, kalua pork, spinach mozzarella, curry chicken, ube, custard and strawberry haupia.
The char siu is the most popular savory filling, while ube is one of the most popular sweet fillings.

Customers can also take advantage of a buy-one-get-one-half-off deal on the eatery’s plate lunches. One-choice plates are $12.95 and two-choice combo plates cost $14.95. Popular options include chow funn, char siu pork and sweet and sour spare ribs.

While it’s not part of the discounts, dim sum is also available at Aloha Island Manapua. Choose from generously sized pork hash ($1.35), shrimp dumplings ($1.50) and half moon ($1.50). Half moons are filled with water chestnuts, mung beans and radish.
