Sleigh My Name is SKY Waikīkī’s first holiday pop-up lounge

Customers can enjoy seasonal cocktails in a cozy setting until Dec. 25. Plus, when you attend the holiday pop-up, you can still access SKY Waikīkī’s full food menu — and enjoy those scenic views of the Waikīkī skyline.

SKY Waikīkī is known for its skyline views of Waikīkī, along with its seafood and raw bar. This winter, the open-air venue launched its first-ever holiday pop-up lounge.

For those wondering about the open-air aspect, don’t worry — the holiday pop-up is in a covered area, but guests can still enjoy those rooftop views.

Cheekily called “Sleigh My Name,” the lounge is open nightly from 5 to 10 p.m. until Dec. 25. It’s first come, first serve; no reservations accepted.

Choose from festive seasonal cocktails like Sleigh Tini ($17) — Grey Goose, chocolate Baileys and cold brew — Mistletoe Margarita ($16) and Naughty Nog ($17). We’re told the latter two are the most popular; the margarita includes Patron Silver, cranberry lime, triple sec and agave, while Naughty Nog is a mix of Angel’s Envy, crème de cacao, eggnog and cinnamon.

Shot skis ($40 for four shots) are also available for groups, and non-alcoholic options are also available.

One of the best parts about the holiday pop-up is that customers can still order off SKY Waikīkī’s full food menu. Choose from the oyster bar — Kusshi oysters ($6 each) are among the most popular — and seafood-centric appetizers like Hawaiian ‘ahi poke ($19), black tiger shrimp with housemade cocktail sauce ($29), and spicy ‘ahi bombs ($25). The latter are a crowd favorite, consisting of an avocado and cucumber roll topped with spicy ‘ahi, unagi sauce and furikake.

The spicy ‘ahi nachos ($24) and grilled octopus ($29) are also great for sharing. The fried wonton chips are topped with auction-fresh ‘ahi, bonito flakes, green onions, sweet Maui onions, jalapenos, spicy aioli and kabayaki sauce. The grilled octopus comes with squid ink tomato sauce, fingerling potatoes, Ho Farms tomato, pipikaula and celery.

If you’re looking for heartier entrees, go for the braised short rib ($56), auction-fresh catch (market price) or fish ‘n chips ($28). The latter is a delectably crispy Kona Longboard Lager beer-battered catch of the day, served with cocktail sauce and sea salt fries. The fish is perfectly golden-brown and flaky inside; take it to the next level by asking for a side of malt vinegar.
