Did you miss the Honolulu City Lights due to bad weather? The City and County of Honolulu has expanded the displays due to “recent inclement weather that resulted in multiple closures, limiting opportunities for residents and visitors to experience the popular holiday attraction,” according to its representatives.

Each year, the City and County of Honolulu, in partnership with the Friends of Honolulu City Lights and Show Aloha Land, illuminates holiday displays at the Frank F. Fasi Civic Grounds and Thomas Square Park. This year, the theme is “Navigating by the Stars,” which honors the 50th birthday of Hōkūleʻa.

The holiday trees decorated by city departments, as well as wreaths submitted by the public as part of an annual contest, will remain on display inside Honolulu Hale through Tuesday, Dec. 30. There will also be outdoor food vendors on the Frank F. Fasi Civic Grounds through that date.

The outdoor lights at Honolulu Hale will power down on Jan. 3. Light displays at Thomas Square Park will continue through Wednesday, Dec. 31. For more information, visit hnlcitylights.com.
