A full week in Mānoa highlights the week in Hawai‘i sports, including a compressed Friday on the UH campus.
The No. 3 University of Hawai‘i men's volleyball team will play a total four matches this week, with doubleheaders against Roberts Wesleyan and Rockhurst on Wednesday and Friday. Matches will be held at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. on both days.
Also on Friday, the Polynesian Bowl, one of the country's top high school football all-star games, kicks off at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex at 4 p.m. The Hawai‘i men's volleyball team already put out an announcement in anticipation of the hectic day on Friday.
Additionally, the Sony Open will be held at Waialae Country Club from Thursday to Sunday, kicking off the PGA season. Tickets can be purchased here.
On the hardwood, both University of Hawai‘i basketball teams will play Cal Poly on Thursday and UC Santa Barbara on Saturday. The women's team is at home, while the men's team will be on the road.
The University of Hawai‘i water polo team also opens its season this week at the Fresno State Polo-Palooza. The Rainbow Wahine will take on Indiana in an exhibition on Friday, then begins its regular season on Saturday against San Jose State and California. The 'Bows then close out their week on Sunday against Michigan.
In PacWest Conference action, both Hawai‘i Pacific basketball teams return to the Shark Tank this week, hosting Vanguard on Thursday and Menlo on Saturday. Hawai‘i-Hilo's basketball teams will host Dominican on Thursday and Vanguard on Saturday. Chaminade's basketball teams will host Vanguard on Tuesday, Menlo on Thursday and Dominican on Saturday.
In high school basketball action, a pivotal matchup between Kamehameha and ‘Iolani's girls basketball teams is set for Tuesday at ‘Iolani at 6:30 p.m. Both teams are 5-0 in ILH play thus far.
