A new Chinese-Mongolian skewers spot opened recently in Honolulu.

Dahan Skewer opened in the former space of Honu’s Kalbi & Sushi on Kapahulu Avenue. The eatery is still in its soft opening; its grand opening will be announced soon.
Customers can currently enjoy a 10% discount during the restaurant’s soft opening.
The eatery specializes in Chinese-Mongolian skewers. The restaurant name is inspired by the Han Dynasty, during which charcoal-grilled meats were especially popular.
Dahan Skewer offers much more than grilled meats. Start with appetizers like wasabi okra ($7.89), Kona live abalone ($18.99 for two pieces), grilled garlic oysters ($18.99 for three pieces) and homemade green onion pancake ($4.99).
We’re told the grilled garlic oysters have been a customer favorite since the restaurant quietly opened in December.

Skewer meat options include beef, lamb, pork and chicken. Skewers come in portions of three or five per order; choose your spice level for each.
Chicken thigh ($7.99 for three), beef ($7.99 for three) and pork belly ($8.99 for three) have been the most popular so far. Other options include Chinese pork sausage ($8.99), beef brisket with tendon ($8.99), chicken gizzard ($7.99), Maui venison ($9.99) and more.

Dahan Skewer also offers its real passion fruit bowl ($25.99), which is designed to share among a group and is brought to tables in a dispenser. The passion fruit beverage boasts a refreshing citrus flavor, which nicely balances the spice from the skewers.
Dahan Skewer is currently open from 5 to 11 p.m., but will extend its hours and open during lunch after the grand opening.
