Whether you prefer dining out or staying in — or just want specialty desserts — here are delicious ways to celebrate Feb. 14.

Aloha Brew Coffee Bar

Where: Various locations in ‘Ewa Bach
What: This coffee business’s Valentine’s menu just launched. Drinks are available in heart-shaped cups with flavors like Sweet Thang (white chocolate, Thai walls and vanilla cold foam), I Love You Like a Mango (mango black tea with optional pineapple juice), Perfect Match-A (strawberry matcha), chocolate-dipped strawberry (strawberry with chocolate cold foam), Honey Bebeh (honey, brown sugar and coconut cold foam), Passion Love (black tea, lilikoʻi cold foam and optional pineapple juice), Going Bananas for You (banana, mocha walls and Cookie Butter cold foam) and banana split (banana, chocolate walls and strawberry cold foam).

What: This special Valentine’s dinner costs $125 per person. The menu includes:

  • Starter: Chicken sate with Thai peanut sauce, cucumber salad and flat bread mini Kobe beef tart with quail egg
  • Choice of appetizer: Combination appetizer platter (minimum two people) with fresh ‘ahi tartar in mini waffle cones, smoked duck taco with fresh mango salsa, gravlax salmon roulade with cream cheese and crab meat, and kataifi macadamia nut crusted jumbo black tiger prawns; fresh Kumamoto oysters on ice with lemongrass garlic mignonette; Japanese eggplant and zucchini souffle with fresh tomato sauce; roasted beet and tomato salad with balsamic pearls; or roasted butternut squash and lobster bisque with crispy crab dumplings
  • Choice of entrée: Vegetable terrine with Thai green curry sauce and naan bread; pan-roasted chicken with Hennessy green peppercorn sauce; miso Chilean sea bass with pickled vegetables and steamed brown rice; rosemary garlic pork loin with crispy rice or hoisin marinated Australian lamb chops with brandy demi; or grilled beef tenderloin wellington with duxelles mushroom

DECK. Waikīkī

Where: Queen Kapiʻolani Hotel Waikīkī Beach, 150 Kapahulu Ave., Honolulu
What: The Valentine’s Day prix fixe ($100 per guest) features a four-course menu. It includes:

  • Amuse: Duck confit tart with slow-braised duck, fig jam and brie
  • First course salad (choose one): Berries and chevre (Waipoli greens, fresh berries, chevre goat cheese, candied pecans and blueberry vinaigrette); classic wedge (iceberg wedge, Ho Farms cherry tomatoes, bacon, Maui onions, gorgonzola and blue cheese dressing); vegan kale (local kale, baby fennel, purple radish, baby beets, Ho Farms cherry tomato and lilikoʻi vinaigrette)
  • Second course appetizer (choose one): Baked brie (pastry wrapped brie, fig gastrique); lamb chops Scottadito (two grilled herb-marinated lamb chops with lemon mint tzatziki); or baby beets (chilled, roasted baby beets, arugula pesto and pepitos)
  • Third course entrée (choose one): Filet mignon (grilled 6-ounce fillet, gruyere potatoes, asparagus, bearnaise); salmon en croute (miso-marinated salmon filet roasted in a crispy pastry and served with creamy pancetta-brussels sprouts); or ratatouille (oven-roasted local vegetables, San Marzano tomato sauce, fresh herbs, olive oil and balsamic glaze)
  • Dessert (choose one): Caramel macchiato basque cheesecake, hazelnut mousse, strawberry panna cotta or red wine poached pear

What: The dessert shop is offering a variety of themed treats for Valentine’s Day. Specialty desserts include strawberry shortcake ($65), strawberry basque ($40), strawberry roll cake ($30), raspberry opera cake ($45-$55, depending on size), chocolate-covered strawberries ($25-$45, depending on number of pieces; $5.50 each), cake pops ($5.50), four-piece financier sets ($16), espresso cup sets ($8.50) and more. Certain desserts like the raspberry mousse ($7.50), raspberry opera cake ($8.50) and choco tarte ($8.50) are also available in individual sizes.

MW Restaurant

What: This Valentine’s Day special tasting menu ($110 per person) is available on Feb. 13 and 14, but on Feb. 13, diners have the option to order off the a la carte menu, as well.

The tasting menu includes:

  • Regiis Ova caviar, Ok Farm egg
  • Starter (choose one): Truffle asparagus soup, Ho Farms tomato salad (cucumbers, strawberries and Japan ume vinaigrette), or seafood sampler ($15 supplemental)
  • Entrée (choose one): Hudson Valley duck confit (cranberry jus, roasted vegetables and potato gnocchi), steamed kanpachi (shrimp hash, truffle bacon dashi and baby bok choy) or surf and turf ($20 supplemental)
  • Dessert (choose one): Strawberry shave ice (Lāʻie vanilla bean panna cotta, strawberry hibiscus salad, strawberry sorbet and shaved strawberries), chocolate lovers dream (chocolate cake, chocolate sorbet and chocolate truffles) or cherries jubilee ($5 supplemental)

What: This Valentine’s Day dinner buffet costs $125 per adult and $55 per child. The restaurant’s a la carte menu will not be available during this time.

Star of Honolulu

What: The Pacific Star Sunset Buffet & Show Cruise ($128.88 per adult, $76.96 per child) includes a welcome Mai Tai, Pacific Rim dinner buffet, Moku Ola show and sunset views.

The buffet menu includes Alaea salt crusted USDA prime roast beef, fish of the day with coconut curry sauce, barbecue chicken, local macaroni salad, Big Island mixed greens with sweet bread croutons and citrus vinaigrette, homemade pineapple banana bread, coconut cake, guava chiffon cake and more.

Stripsteak, A Michael Mina Restaurant

What: Stripsteak’s Valentine’s Day menu costs $139 per person. The three-course menu includes:

  • First course (choose one): Chop chop wedge (bacon, tomato, egg, red onions, blue cheese and buttermilk ranch); dashi poached shrimp cocktail (wasabi cocktail and lemon); truffle Caesar (Maui onion crema, garlic streusel and tempura white anchovy); ‘Instant’ bacon (Kurobuta pork belly, tempura oyster and soy glaze)
  • Second course (choose one): 8-ounce black Angus filet; 12-ounce prime New York strip;  roasted jidori chicken (with whipped potato, onion jus); or Big Glory Bay king salmon (with miso cauliflower)
  • Third course (choose one): Basque-style cheesecake (sesame tuile, macadamia nut, toasted coconut and strawberry jus) or devil’s food cake (Kahlua-chocolate fudge, smoked Alaea salt, and rum soaked banana)

The Buffet at Hyatt

Where: Hyatt Regency Waikīkī Beach Resort & Spa, 2424 Kalākaua Ave., Honolulu
What: The restaurant’s Valentine’s dinner buffet costs $125 per person (50% off for children ages 6 to 12 years old, children ages 5 and under have free admission). Buffet highlights include a carving station with garlic and herb crusted prime rib and grilled rack of lamb; seafood and sushi (Goosepoint oysters, Alaskan snow crab legs, ‘ahi poke, ‘ahi sashimi, made-to-order temaki handrolls and more); teppan station (kalbi short ribs, washugyu beef bulgogi and baked oysters); hot food station (Hyatt signature Korean fried chicken, roasted Hawaiian kampachi, lechon pork belly and more); and assorted desserts (soft serve ice cream with toppings, chocolate-dipped strawberries, chocolate fountain with assorted fruits and brownies, mini red velvet cupcakes, tiramisu and more).

There is a 90-minute dining time limit, and this holiday menu is not combinable with the eatery’s kamaʻāina discount and other promotions.
