Ready to catch a show? From a murder mystery thriller to a musical sharing a complicated love story, there are several productions to choose from at the moment.

Want to see a theater production on stage? This week, there are multiple options on Oʻahu, including a murder mystery at Mānoa Valley Theatre and a musical at Diamond Head Theatre. 

“Dial M for Murder.” This murder mystery thriller is now on stage at Mānoa Valley Theatre. Aloha State Daily spoke with Dwight Martin, who plays the role of chief inspector in the production. Martin, who previously served as the theater's producing director for 38 years, shared about his career and how it feels to be back on stage. “Dial M for Murder” opened on Jan. 22 and runs Thursday through Sunday. It ends Sunday, Feb. 8. Tickets are $25 to $47 and can be ordered online or by calling 808-988-6131. Details.

“The Last Five Years.” Diamond Head Theatre launched its first production of 2026. The musical “The Last Five Years,” which was recently on Broadway, follows a rising author and an aspiring actress as they fall in and out of love over five years. The musical’s score is by Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown. Shows start Friday, Jan. 23, and end Sunday, Feb. 8. Tickets start at $43. Details.

“Two Nails, One Love.” Kumu Kahua Theatre is bringing “Two Nails, One Love,” to the stage. The story, written by Lee A Tonouchi, is based on the novel by Alden M Hayashi. It follows Ethan Taniguchi, a recently single gay man in New York City who gets an unexpected visit from his estranged mother from Hawaiʻi. There will be a book club that explores the novel which inspired the play at 6 p.m. on Jan. 26 at Kumu Kahua Theatre. The shows runs Thursday through Sunday from Jan. 22 through Feb. 22. Tickets start at about $20. There will be a Ladies Night pre-show social at Black Shamrock Tavern at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 6. Details.
