Beeman's Big Bash, a marketing initiative for both the University of Hawai‘i women's basketball team and its head coach Laura Beeman, returns to the Stan Sheriff Center on Saturday.
The Rainbow Wahine won the inaugural Beeman's Big Bash in 2024, then won the sequel, Beeman's Bigger Bash, in 2025. The 2026 edition of Beeman's Big Bash takes place on Saturday when the Rainbow Wahine host Long Beach State at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
After beginning Big West play 0-5, the Rainbow Wahine have won four games in a row to escape the doldrums of the conference standings. Prior to Saturday, the Rainbow Wahine will host conference leader UC Irvine at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
While the women's basketball team is at home, the UH men's basketball team will face UC Irvine in a nationally televised road tilt on Thursday. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. on ESPNU. The winner of Thursday's game, the rematch of a Jan. 10 thriller, will claim first place in the conference standings.
The No. 3 Hawai‘i men's volleyball team will head to Pennsylvania for a trio of road matches, beginning with Saint Francis on Wednesday, followed by No. 14 Penn State on Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, the No. 5 UH women's water polo team will compete from Friday though Sunday at the Triton Invitational in La Jolla, Calif. The Rainbow Wahine will play Concordia on Friday, while its Saturday and Sunday opponents have yet to be determined.
PacWest baseball and softball
College baseball and softball at the NCAA Division II level begins this week. Hawai‘i Pacific will open its 2026 season on Friday against Cal State Los Angeles at Hans L'Orange Park at 1 p.m. CSU Los Angeles will remain on the field to take on Chaminade as part of a doubleheader.
Meanwhile, Hawai‘i Pacific, Hawai‘i-Hilo and Chaminade's softball teams will all play at the Concordia Kickoff Classic from Friday to Sunday.
PacWest basketball
Hawai‘i Pacific's basketball teams will play at Westmont on Thursday and Vanguard on Saturday. Chaminade's basketball teams will play at Point Loma on Thursday and Concordia-Irvine on Saturday. Meanwhile, Hawai‘i-Hilo's basketball teams will play at Azusa Pacific on Thursday and at Westmont on Saturday
State soccer
The HHSAA girls soccer tournaments take place this week. The Division II championship game begins at 5 p.m. at Waipi‘o Peninsula Soccer Stadium on Saturday, while the Division I championship game begins at 7 p.m.
