San Paolo Pizza & Wine is known for its Brazilian-Italian fusion and all-you-can-eat pizza experience.

The Honolulu-based is launching its new brunch menu starting March 14. Brunch will be served from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekends only for now, but the restaurant aims to eventually serve brunch daily starting from an earlier time.

We got a preview of the new brunch menu during a friends and family event. Prices were not available during the time of our visit.

The brunch menu features a mix of breakfast classics — omelets, avocado toast, French toast and pancakes — and more unique dishes that feature popular elements in Brazilian cuisine.

Eggs Benedicts come with a side salad or roasted potatoes. Customers can choose from mozzarella and bacon; slow-cooked beef short ribs; or Catupiry and ham.

Catupiry is a creamy, processed cheese that’s popular in Brazil. It’s known for its easily spreadable texture and can be found in sandwiches and pastries. It’s also a popular pizza topping at the restaurant.

Breakfast platters include the Brazilian breakfast or Calabresa sausage breakfast. The former features cheese bread waffles with Catupiry cheese, a half papaya with yogurt, honey and granola, and seasonal fruit. The waffles’ cheesy flavor was enhanced by the Catupiry spread.

Diners can also opt for breakfast sandwiches filled with Calabresa and Catupiry, or chicken and crispy pancetta.

This dish features smoked salmon topped with dill cream cheese and salmon roe, and served with scrambled eggs and roasted potatoes. This is an ideal option if you want something flavorful and filling, but not too heavy.

Other brunch options include spaghetti carbonara and spaghetti al pomodoro — if you want something hearty — Caesar salad, French toast with lilikoʻi mascarpone and guava jam, and classic pancakes with maple syrup.

Brunch beverages range from cocktails — including mimosas and Bloody Marys — to a variety of coffees.

Keep in mind that this is the eatery’s soft opening menu and is subject to change, based on customer feedback.

For dessert, indulge in tres leches cake — a light sponge cake soaked in three-milk syrup — and bomboloni. The latter is the eatery’s version of malasadas; these Italian-style fried donuts are stuffed with a raspberry mascarpone filling.
