Watch “Spring Awakening” at Mānoa Valley Theatre. The rock musical opens Thursday, March 19. The show is being brought to the stage by Director Lurana Donnels O’Malley, a recently retired professor of theatre for the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa’s Department of Theatre and Dance. She is making her MVT debut and is joined by her daughter, Teia, the scenic designer for the production. Catch this theatre-in-the-round production, where the stage is surrounded by the audience on every side and the cast performs for the entire room. Saturday, March 21
Stay inside and watch movies! For outdoor enthusiasts, rainy weather can present challenges. With thunderstorms in the forecast for Saturday, according to The Weather Channel, Aloha State Daily has compiled this list of movies and television shows with ties to the Islands to watch when it rains. From “Chief of War” and “Kūkini” to Disney’s live action “Lilo & Stitch,” there are plenty of productions to watch featuring local talent and the Islands. Details.
