Mother’s Day is coming up Sunday, May 10. Whether you’re looking for an extravagant buffet or specialty desserts, check out the options below:

What: This Mother’s Day bento ($45) is available for takeout. It includes roasted garlic beef shortrib, shoyu chicken, miso-honey glazed butterfish, vegetables, rice and a Valrhona chocolate cake.

Bird of Paradise

Where: 91-1200 Fort Weaver Road, Ewa Beach
What: Highlights for this Mother’s Day brunch buffet ($98 per adult, $49 per child ages 6 to 12 years) include:

  • Carving station: Slow herb roasted prime rib, smoked lamb leg with mint jelly
  • Hot station: Taro pancakes, eggs Benedict, steamed salmon, grilled chicken, steamed snow crab legs, pancit bihon, scalloped potatoes and more
  • Cold bar: ‘Ahi poke, sashimi, peel and eat shrimp cocktail, lomi lomi salad, tomato mozzarella salad, Oriental chicken salad and more

Chef Chai

What: This all-you-can-eat lobster buffet costs $139 per person (50% off for children under 10 years old). The buffet will include:

  • Appetizers, soups and salads: Fresh ‘ahi poke, jumbo shrimp cocktail, fresh oysters, gravlax salmon with lemon dill cream and caper berries, kataifi crusted jumbo black tiger prawns with pineapple vinaigrette, shredded green papaya salad, roasted butternut squash and lobster bisque and more

Hy’s Steak House

What: This Mother’s Day brunch buffet costs $140 per adult ($105 for seniors ages 65 years and older, $65 for children ages 6 to 12 years, free admission for children ages 5 years and under).

The buffet will include:

  • Appetizers: Hy’s signature Caesar salad, assorted charcuterie and cheeses, Waldorf salad, mini quiche, smoked salmon crostinis, ‘ahi sashimi, spicy poke, oysters on the half shell, lobster bisque, corn chowder, shrimp cocktail
  • Action stations: Hy’s slow roasted prime rib, herb-crusted pork loin, leg of lamb
  • Hot dishes: Chicken marsala, lemon garlic salmon, steamed snow crab
  • Breakfast offerings: Breakfast meats (bacon, link sausage and Portuguese sausage), eggs Florentine, potato rosti, scrambled eggs

What: This dessert shop is offering a variety of decorated treats. Choose from the rose strawberry shortcake ($65-$90), carnation strawberry shortcake ($58-$85), strawberry roll cake ($40), “Berry in Paris” raspberry mousse cake ($65), chocolate covered strawberries (three for $25, five for $35), icing cookies ($8 each), cake pops ($5.50 each), cheesecakes ($60), espresso sets ($8.50) and macaron sets ($15).

The Capital Grille

Where: Lilia Waikīkī, 2380 Kūhiō Ave. Ste. 105, Honolulu
What: This Mother’s Day brunch costs $80 per person. It includes:

  • Blueberry bread basket for the table
  • First course (choose one): Cup of New England clam chowder; field greens salad (butter leaf lettuce, heirloom tomatoes, Parmesan vinaigrette) or cold-smoked salmon and avocado toast (dill cream cheese and pickled onions on toasted Japanese milk bread, finished with chive oil)
  • Main course (choose one): 8-ounce center cut filet mignon (with soft fried egg, truffle hollandaise, asparagus and white cheddar hash brown); pan-seared salmon with citrus crab salad and red chile vinaigrette; or lobster frittata (butter poached lobster tails, truffle hollandaise, asparagus and white cheddar hash browns)

What: This Mother’s Day brunch buffet costs $89 per person ($40 for children ages 5 to 12 years). It includes:

  • Specialty chef stations: Alaskan snow crab legs with drawn butter, build-your-own omelet station with toppings, hand-carved salt crusted prime rib, guava-glazed pork belly porchetta, smoked salmon and mini bagels, miso soup station, pancake and French toast bar with assorted toppings
  • Brunch favorites: Macadamia nut fresh catch with lemon cream sauce, chicken Florentine with Champagne spinach and sundried tomato Chardonnay sauces, Tiki’s fried rice, honey cured bacon and Portuguese sausage, togarashi seared salmon with citrus beurre L’Orange sauce

The dinner buffet costs $129 per adult ($74 per child ages 4 to 9 years). It includes ‘ahi poke with limu, spicy ‘ahi roll, roasted prime rib, snow crab with drawn butter, garlic miso chicken, fire braised pork ribs with western barbecue sauce, seafood cioppino, garlic lemon herb rack of lamb with red wine demi glaze, garlic mashed potatoes with white truffle oil and more.

ZIGU

What: The Waikīkī eatery is offering two special sushi platters for Mother’s Day. Platter one ($190) includes maguro, kanpachi, salmon, hamachi, ikura, scallop, kappa roll, tekka roll and a yuzu hamachi roll. Platter two ($400) includes otoro, chutoro, maguro, uni, salmon, hamachi, ikura, scallop, spicy salmon roll and a spicy tuna roll.
