In lieu of an official spring game, the University of Hawai‘i football team will hold a "Warrior Pau Hana" event on Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Clarence T.C. Ching Athletics Complex.
For the third consecutive year, the Rainbow Warriors were again one of the earliest teams in the country to begin spring practices in 2025, doing so on Feb. 3. The 'Bows will hold their 15th and final practice of the spring on Friday.
Although a spring game would traditionally mark the end of spring practices, an increasing number of teams across the country are eliminating the spring game itself. In UH's case, the 'Bows have not held a spring game since 2022.
Sunday's Warrior Pau Hana is set to take place from 4 to 6 p.m., with a 20-minute autograph session to follow. Admission, as well as parking, is free.
The Rainbow Warriors will treat the day like a normal practice, with a scrimmage at the end of the two-hour session. The environment surrounding them on Sunday will not resemble a normal practice. A bevy of fan activities, as well as a beer garden, will be near the field on Sunday.
"Definitely a family atmosphere," Hawai‘i head coach Timmy Chang said when asked what to expect on Sunday after a recent practice. "(Fans) will want to see the football team and women, families, the moms, the dads, the brothers, the uncles, the aunties, cousins, girlfriends, families, babies. I mean, we just want everybody to come see their team and just kind of watch what we've been doing. We're not going to stray too far away from what we've been doing in practices. We've been getting a lot of reps. It's just really good to see where we're at."
Added associate head coach and linebackers coach Chris Brown: "We've got some new guys that are rising up. I know everybody's excited to see what the offense has got."
Fans are encouraged to RSVP online, where they can also be registered to participate in contests and win prizes. The event will also serve as the first opportunity for fans to renew their 2025 season tickets. Hawai‘i's schedule, which was recently released, begins with a home game against Stanford on Aug. 23.
