Chocolate chip cookies. Gelato milkshakes. Housemade banana bread. These are just some of the desserts you’ll find at Seven Brothers Mom’s Bakery at the Kahuku Sugar Mill.

Seven Brothers — which is known for its savory burgers — opened this bakery in honor of their mom, according to social media manager Kenna Jones.
“Their mom made this banana bread growing up; she always wanted a bakery,” she says. “They (Seven Brothers) opened it for their mom and for their wives. Everything we cook and sell is local.
“It (this space) was a convenience store that had been closed for a while, so they bought it and renovated it,” she adds.
The bakery used to be called the Marketplace, but was recently rebranded to emphasize the bakery and its locally made products.

The housemade banana bread is the bakery’s signature dessert. It’s studded with chocolate chips and topped with coconut flakes.
“It’s (the recipe) been passed down,” Jones says. “Their (Seven Brothers’) mom made it, her mom made it; it’s been generational.”

While the bakery always sold banana bread, it now features a collection of desserts from other locally owned businesses. You can find OG chocolate chip cookies ($5) — along with specialty flavors like white chocolate raspberry and mango and mocha mac nut ($6 each) — from Chunky Cookies and gelato from Il Gelato.
Customers can also enjoy milkshakes ($7.50) in flavors like Nutella goddess, caramel swell, Oreo storm and peanut butter lover. While Oreo storm is the most popular flavor, customers can also create their own shakes, according to Jones.
“You can do a vanilla or chocolate base with add-ins,” she says. “We also have a shake of the month that we do every month; a new one will be coming out in June.”

If you have a serious sweet tooth, check out the BOM brownies ($8 each), which come in options like original, cinnamon blondie and brookie. The latter is a brownie-cookie hybrid with vanilla icing and cookie dough; mini options ($4.10 each) are also available.
Seven Brothers Mom’s Bakery is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays to Saturdays (closed Sundays).
“It’s a good breakfast place and a good dessert place,” Jones says. “People will usually eat burgers (at Seven Brothers) and come get dessert. It’s such a cute place, especially at night — it’s such a vibe and all the lights are on.”
