A massive Maui estate could be yours — for $33 million.
Located on an acre of land at 7505 Makena Road in Makena, the 7-bedroom, 8-bathroom, 10,500-square-foot estate with "unobstructed ocean view corridors along Maui's coveted coastline" was built in 1991 with major renovations completed last year, the listing notes.
Among its features, the home has custom wood finishes; views of the Pacific, Molokini Crater and Kaho‘olawe; more than 4,000 square feet of deck space; a hotel-sized pool; and outdoor cinema, the listing notes. There's also a fully equipped pool house with a kitchen and living area, a six-car garage and a separate caretaker's quarters.
The property is listed by Ryan MacLaughlin and Alex Cortez with Island Sotheby's International Realty.
"It's rare to see a home in the area hit the market as many owners are very private and will hold their properties for years," MacLaughlin told Aloha State Daily in an email. "What's more rare is a home of this size. It lends itself well to a large family or even two families traveling together to use as their vacation home. It's very rare to get this bedroom count and this interior square footage."
MacLaughlin says it would be almost impossible to build a home with the same kind of square footage and number of bedrooms again because of the expense.
"The replacement value on this would cost so much more than we are listing it for," he noted.
According to MacLaughlin, the renovation work finished in 2024 included the pool, new landscaping and lava tile exterior installed on the walkways and lanais. New fountains, ponds and water features were installed and the furniture was revamped.
And don't forget about the solar power.
"Equipped with one of the largest Tesla Solar Roofs in the nation, this estate boasts a powerful 73 [kilowatt] solar system and 15 Tesla Powerwalls," the listing notes.
For MacLaughlin, the solar roof is one of the home's coolest features.
"Living green while also enjoying some of the most luxurious amenities of this home is the perfect balance," he told ASD when asked about the property and what it offers. "There is a massive movie screen that elevates out of the ground so you can watch from the pool or at night while entertaining. Unique features like that make this property one of the most enjoyable entertaining homes there is. Yet there is so much separation and privacy between the pool house, the primary wing and the secondary wing."
MacLaughlin, who says it's always the little details that catch his eye, notes that his favorite feature, though, is the interior wood finish carpentry.
"The level of finish and fine detail is like I've never seen," he says. "Every piece of baseboard or molding or built-in shelf or door has been custom-built and finished. It's like you are walking into an art piece."
According to the listing, the turn-key property is being offered fully furnished.
