Friday, Dec. 19

ʻTwas the Light Before Christmas on Ice. Check out this immersive winter wonderland through Jan. 4 at the Hawaiʻi Convention Center. On Friday, Dec. 19, there will be a K-Pop Night with an opportunity to skate with favorite characters. On Sunday, Dec. 21, there is a chance to take selfies with Santa and enjoy a treat from Honolulu Cookie Co. Open 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and until 10 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Last tickets are sold an hour before closing. The event includes an indoor ice skating rink, as well as dazzling lights and holiday decor. Tickets cost about $30 per adult and $20 per child (for non-skating tickets) or around $40 per adult and $25 per child (includes skating). Senior, military and VIP tickets are also available. Holiday pop-ups. Looking for a mug of holiday cheer? The Grinchmas Bar is open at Aloha Mamacita, along with Makana at ‘Alohilani Resort Waikīkī Beach, The Christmas Bar Hawaiʻi at Tiki’s Grill & Bar, Yules Truly, and several other holiday-themed pop-up bars. Details.

Saturday, Dec. 20
Honolulu City Lights. Holiday light displays are underway at Frank F. Fasi Civic Grounds and Thomas Square Park, thanks to a partnership of City and County of Honolulu, Friends of Honolulu City Lights and Show Aloha Land. Inside Honolulu Hale, the City Department Holiday Tree Exhibition will return with each department decorating a tree that represents their work. Attendees can also enjoy wreaths created by the public — including the staff of Aloha State Daily — on display inside the Lane Gallery of Honolulu Hale. Free milk and cookies sponsored by Hawaiʻi Foodservice Alliance or Diamond Bakery will be available at 6 p.m. on Dec. 19 and 20. Details.
ʻEwa Beach Lions Club Christmas Parade. ʻEwa Beach Lions Club is sponsoring this parade, which is expected to have 45 vehicles, 10 floats and two bands, as well as 300 marchers. It starts at James Campbell High School and goes from there to North Road, Waver Road, Kuhina Street and finally back to North Road and the high school’s parking lot. Lane closures run from 8 a.m. to approximately 11:30 a.m. Details.
Olomana Christmas Parade. This event, sponsored by Olomana Community Association, will have six vehicles and one band, as well as about 50 marchers. It starts and ends at Maunawili Elementary School. Lanes will be closed from 2 p.m. until approximately 3 p.m. Details.
Moanalua Christmas Parade. Sponsored by Called Ministry Inc., this parade is expected to have about 300 participants. It starts and ends at Moanalua High School. The event starts at 6:30 p.m. and ends at approximately 8 p.m. Details.
Kalani Peʻa's Hawaiian Christmas Show. Enjoy a live performance from the four-time Grammy winner Kalani Peʻa at 7 p.m. at the Hawaiʻi Theatre. Joining Peʻa is Kumu Hula Shelsea Lilia Ai and Hālau Lilia Makanoe, Sounds of Aloha Chorus and 24-7 Danceforce Studio. The event is hosted by Mele Apana. VIP tickets include premiere seating, a private post-show meet and greet, CD signings, photo opportunities and a complimentary beverage. Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets start at $60.50. Details.
Sunday, Dec. 21
Free movie night: “Lilo & Stitch.” Enjoy a free showing of the island favorite “Lilo & Stitch” at 7 p.m. at the grounds of Honolulu Hale as part of special events for Honolulu City Lights. Details.
Hula Kalikimaka Ma Helumoa. The Royal Hawaiian Center is partnering with Moanalua Gardens Foundation and the Native Hawaiian Hospitality Association to present this family friendly holiday event at The Royal Grove. The event supports Hawaiʻi Food Bank and is a collection site for nonperishable food items or cash donations to help ʻohana in need. Attendees of the event can enjoy performances by hālau from the Prince Lot Hula Festival. The event runs from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There will also be Hawaiian craft vendors and hands-on cultural activities.
