The poke stand is in Kakaʻako next to The Rice Factory. The spot is conducive to grab and go, but there are a few tables for outdoor seating.

This concept has only been in the works for two months, according to Ryan Ko, vice president/chief operating officer for Westman Corporation. He explains that the business is unique because of its specialty poke with “Japanese-inspired flavors and accents.”

“Currently, there’s a range of classic flavors like our original shoyu and spicy tuna, and then a few more creative ones like Gohan Desuyo! Avocado, yuzu ponzu and mentai mayo,” he says. “Flavors will rotate and change periodically. We hope to deliver value and delicious poke to every household.”

Gohan Desuyo! Avocado is expected to be one of the more popular flavors. It’s inspired by a popular Japanese condiment — a savory, seasoned seaweed paste — that’s often used as a topping over hot rice.

Yuzu ponzu is a refreshing option; its bright, citrus flavor truly shines. Meanwhile, miso cheese is an unexpected combo that works — it features a salmon base with miso and cream cheese. It has a subtle sweetness that’s nicely balanced by the nutty, umami miso.

Customers can choose from poke bowls ($14.50) or poke plates ($19.50). Bowls include a base of your choice (white or brown rice, or salad mix) with two poke flavors; plates include these options, as well as two sides of your choice. The business uses rice from The Rice Factory Honolulu.

Sides include mac salad, tofu with bonito flakes, avocado with bonito flakes, kinpira lotus root, kimchi and more.

Poke is also available a la carte ($18 for 6 ounces, $24 for 8 ounces).

The shop is currently open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Since it’s in soft opening, hours are subject to change.

While customer parking is limited in the area, there are two designated stalls for customer parking. Street parking is also available.
