With just six regular season games remaining, the University of Hawai‘i men's basketball team is still in first place in the Big West standings. At 18-6 overall and 10-4 in conference play, the Rainbow Warriors are tied with UC Irvine for the Big West lead.
This week, the Rainbow Warriors will host Cal Poly on Thursday at 7 p.m. and UC Santa Barbara on Saturday at 5 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
Saturday's contest will be nationally televised on ESPNU. During the contest, the Rainbow Warriors will also honor program legend Anthony "AC" Carter, retiring his No. 23 jersey. The women's basketball team will also play Cal Poly on Thursday and UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, but on the road.
In addition to Carter, the University of Hawai‘i baseball team will also honor legendary former head coach Les Murakami on Friday night before its game against Wichita State. Tickets for the four-game series, which runs from Thursday to Sunday, can be bought here.
In other sports across the UH-Mānoa campus, the UH beach volleyball team will begin the Danny Alvarez era at the Outrigger Duke Kahanamoku Beach Classic from Thursday to Saturday at Queen's Beach in Waikīkī. The Rainbow Wahine will play a total of six matches.
UH's softball team will compete in the Mary Nutter Classic in Cathedral City, Calif., from Thursday to Saturday. The Rainbow Wahine will play five games, not including an exhibition against Team Japan to close the tournament.
Local PacWest contests
Hawai‘i Pacific's basketball teams will host Jessup on Tuesday and Azusa Pacific on Thursday at the Shark Tank. Tickets can be purchased at this link. HPU's baseball team will play a pair of road doubleheaders on Wednesday and Thursday at Concordia.
Chaminade's basketball teams will host Azusa Pacific on Tuesday and Hawai‘i-Hilo on Thursday. Tickets are available at this link. Meanwhile, CUH's baseball team will have road doubleheaders at Point Loma on Wednesday and Thursday.
Hawai‘i-Hilo's basketball teams will host Fresno Pacific on Tuesday and Azusa Pacific on Saturday. Tickets can be bought here. UHH's baseball team will play road doubleheaders at Jessup on Wednesday and Thursday. Meanwhile, Hawai‘i-Hilo's softball team will host Chaminade in a Saturday doubleheader.
