With a mission to expand dining access and support local nonprofit organizations, The Pig & The Lady is launching a new program starting April 23. Its Only Good Vibes project invites diners to enjoy a meal at the restaurant with a “pay-what-you-can” model. This program is open to all members of the public.

The family-owned, Vietnamese-inspired eatery will offer a curated four-course menu; three reservations under the Only Good Vibes Project will be open per night (there will be a separate seating option each month on the eatery’s OpenTable page). Each dining party under the Only Good Vibes project decides how much they want to pay for their meal; all total revenue from the meals will go to a specific non-profit partner.

To kick off this new initiative, The Pig & The Lady will partner with Chef Hui, a local nonprofit whose mission is to strengthen Hawaiʻi food systems and communities by connecting food, farmers and people. The eatery is partnering with Chef Hui to support those affected by the Kona Low storms on the North Shore. Learn more about their efforts here.

“Ensuring everyone eats is something Mama Le instilled in us from a young age, and now, it’s our turn to carry that forward,” states restaurant general manager Alex Le. “This is a first step to putting that spirit into practice, and we hope that it ripples out to the greater community.”

This nonprofit partnership aligns with the eatery’s broader mission of supporting its community through the connective power of food, according to chef Andrew Le.

“Great food shouldn’t feel out of reach,” he says. “I know what it’s like to be a student on a budget, looking in from the outside. We’re launching this program to change that. It’s our way of inviting more people to the table, while giving back at the same time. 100% of the proceeds from this program will be donated to the community organizations that uplift us all. This isn’t just a program; it’s the kind of restaurant I always hoped to build.”
