The week ahead in Hawai‘i sports: HHSAA wraps up state championships

Four different sports will crown their state championships this week to wrap up the school year in high school sports.

The high school sports calendar wraps up across the Islands this week with state championships in four different sports.

The high school boys golf championship takes place on Tuesday and Wednesday at Kaneohe Klipper golf course. Meanwhile, the HHSAA track and field championships will take place at Kamehameha on Friday and Saturday.

Both Division I and II boys volleyball state tournaments will wrap up at BYU-Hawai‘i's Canon Activities Center on Saturday, with the Division II championship match beginning at 5 p.m., followed by the Division I championship match at 7 p.m. The Division I tournament begins on Monday, while the Division II tournament gets underway on Wednesday.

After debuting as a sanctioned sport in 2025, the HHSAA girls football tournament has expanded to two divisions. The Division I tournament begins on Monday, while the Division II tournament gets underway on Wednesday. The Division II championship game will kick off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday at Mililani High School with the D-I final to follow at 7 p.m.

Tickets for HHSAA boys volleyball and flag football contests can be purchased online the night before each game on GoFan.

College sports

The University of Hawai‘i baseball team wraps up its regular season with a three-game series against CSUN from Wednesday to Friday at Les Murakami Stadium. All three games begin at 6:35 p.m. HST. Tickets can be purchased at this link.

Hawai‘i-Hilo's softball team was selected to the NCAA Division II Tournament as an at-large and will take on Cal State San Marcos, the top seed in the West Region, at 9 a.m. HST on Thursday.
