We're not kitten around — Cat Café Maui is one of 20 in the U.S. nominated for the list of Best Cat Cafés in the USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice Awards.
The awards aim to rank the 10 best in several areas of travel and lifestyle, and the 20 nominees were chosen with the help of a panel of experts.
"Over the past 20 years, cat cafés have made their way from Taiwan to Japan to the United States," 10Best writes. "Here, they've become increasingly popular destinations for everyone from existing cat lovers to those simply looking to shake up their work environment. Not only do they serve delicious menu items like espresso drinks, loaded grilled cheese sandwiches and gyoza, these special cafés have resulted in countless adoptions and donations to local shelters."
Cat Café Maui, which offers cat adoptions and transport via the Maui Humane Society and Maui Cat Rescue, is located at Queen Ka‘ahumanu Center in Kahului. Find more information here.
You can vote here once a day until 6 a.m. Monday, June 22. Winners will be announced July 1.
