Everyone’s looking to save money and get the most bang for their buck. This series will show you where you can save while still savoring a good meal.

Don Don Donki, located in Kapolei, is launching $9.99 plates on Wednesday, Nov. 4. The store is following the discounted plates model from Don Quijote’s Kāheka and Pearl City stores.

Customers can find the $9.99 plates by the store’s okazuya/hot foods station.

Don Don Donki will feature a chicken tenders plate for its special, according to delicatessen department manager Kota Kawahara.

“It’s made with chicken breast and coated in a special mix,” Kawahara says. “You can only get the chicken tenders plates at this location.”

The deal will be available starting at 3 p.m. on Wednesdays until sold out. A limited number of plates will be made; limit will be five plates per person, according to Kawahara.

Plates include chicken tenders, rice and cabbage salad.

“After it’s fried, there’s about one pound (of chicken tenders) per plate,” Kawahara says. “It comes with a secret sauce.”

This is the first time Don Don Donki is featuring this deal. Marukai Hawaiʻi’s $9.99 plates on Wednesdays have been successful; so has the brand’s Don Quijote Kāheka’s Friday plate special, according to Kawahara.
