Blend it Forward” is a new community-driven initiative unique to Jamba Hawaiʻi, which is owned and operated by Fresh Dining Concepts LLC.

For the month of July, Jamba Hawaiʻi will donate $1 per Mango-A-Go-Go and Watermelon Breeze smoothies purchased at participating locations for the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaiʻi. Not to mention, the company will match customer contributions dollar-for-dollar, up to $5,000 statewide.

“The initiative is designed to support Hawai‘i-based nonprofits, especially those focused on youth, wellness and community development,” Jamba Hawaiʻi Director of Operations Keliʻi Moreau told Aloha State Daily by email. “For our kickoff, we partnered with the Boys & Girls Club of Hawaiʻi and Boys & Girls Club of Maui, with proceeds benefiting clubhouses on Oʻahu, Kauaʻi and Maui. Moving forward, we plan to work with a range of organizations across the Islands that align with our mission and values.”

Funds raised through this campaign will provide local youth with meals, mentorship, academic support and leadership development, according to Boys & Girls Club of Hawaiʻi.

“We sincerely appreciate the support and wonderful opportunity to partner with Jamba Hawaiʻi to ensure our young people have access to the hope and opportunity we provide at our clubhouses,” said Kelly Maluo-Pearson, CEO of Boys & Girls Club of Maui, in a July 1 announcement. “We are excited to utilize this generous investment from Jamba Hawaiʻi to enhance our quality programs in academic success, healthy lifestyles and leadership and character development.”

Moreau told ASD that the purpose of this program is “to deepen its connection with the community and give back in a meaningful, sustainable way.”

“We wanted to create something that could raise both awareness and funding for local organizations, while engaging our guests in the process,” he said. “The idea was to blend our passion for wellness and ʻohana with our platform — using smoothie sales as a vehicle for positive impact.”

Hawaiʻi-based nonprofits interested in partnering with Jamba Hawaiʻi on a future “Blend it Forward” campaign, may apply online here.

In addition to “Blend It Forward,” Jamba Hawaiʻi offers two fundraising programs that support schools, sports teams and community groups. The first is its buy one, get one fundraiser cards, where organizations purchase Jamba BOGO cards for $8 and sell them for $12, earning $4 profit per card.

“It's a simple and flexible way for groups to raise money through their own networks,” Moreau said.

The second is Jamba’s “Go Go Smoothie” fundraising events, where it sells 12-ounce smoothies for $6 on-site and at the end of the event, the organization receives $1 per smoothie sold — paid on the spot.

“Both options are designed to be easy, profitable and fun," Moreau added.
