Presidents Day weekend means an extra day to spend with family or friends. From reduced-cost tickets to the Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum to free performances of live music by musicians of Hawai’i Symphony Orchestra, here are some of the activities and events happening on O’ahu this Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Friday, Feb. 13
Visit the Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum. Hawai‘i residents, active-duty service members, military dependents and veterans can visit the Pacific Fleet Submarine Museum, including the USS Bowfin, for $5 per ticket over Presidents Day weekend from Saturday, Feb. 14, to Monday, Feb. 16. Ticket pre-registration is now open. General admission is typically $25.99 per adult and $14.99 per child ages 4-12. Details.
Saturday, Feb. 14
Celebrate Valentine’s Day. Looking to celebrate life with your best friend? Or single and ready to mingle? “Music from the Heart: A Valentine to Honolulu.” The Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra will be featuring free pop-up performances across the city as part of its “love letter” to the community. The concerts will take place from 10 a.m. to noon, with times and venues subject to change. The locations include: MW Restaurant Brunch at Velocity (tickets for purchase); Bishop Museum; Downtown Art Center; First Hawaiian Bank at Pearlridge; Kaka‘ako Farmers Market; Kuakini Home; Pickles at Forté; The Barn at SALT at Our Kaka‘ako. Chinatown 808’s Chinatown Festival and Parade. Lunar New Year starts Tuesday, Feb. 17, but this event is kicking off the celebrations early. The festival and parade, presented by American Savings Bank, returns for its 50th year with an all-day event that runs from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. and takes place in ʻAʻala Park on N. Beretania Street, between Maunakea and ʻAʻala Streets. Look for lion and dragon dances, martial arts demonstrations, activities for keiki, live entertainment and vendors with crafts and food.There will also be a pony and donkey petting area. The parade starts at 4:30 p.m. on Hotel Street near the Hawaiʻi State Capitol and continues to Chinatown. Details.
Feel’n Lucky. The District, a night club located just a block from Ala Moana Center, is hosting this event which is a Lunar New Year and Valentine’s Day party. There will be two rooms of music and opportunities to get table service or private karaoke rooms. Enjoy a mix of hip-hop and top 40 hits, as well as dance music. The event runs from 9 p.m. until 4 a.m. Standard night club dress code applies. The cover charge is $20. Details.
SUNDAY, Feb. 15
Lunar New Year yoga with Christy. This free yoga class is designed to help attendees start the Lunar New Year on a fresh start. Wear red, if possible. Bring a mat or towel. The class starts at 8 a.m. at the Lululemon store at Ala Moana Center. Water is provided. Afterward, shop the Lunar New Year collection. Details.
Laulima Day: Community work and nature connection. Head to Green Vibes Farm in Waialua for a day of community service or laulima, to support local agriculture and land stewardship. Attendees get the chance to immerse themselves in natiure, enjoy a nourishing meal and ground themselves in connection with other community members. Meet at Waialua Sugar Mill before heading to the farm for an afternoon of service followed by a communal dinner at sunset. Details.
MONDAY, Feb. 16
“Two Nails, One Love.” Kumu Kahua Theatre is bringing “Two Nails, One Love,” to the stage. The story, written by Lee A Tonouchi, who was just named the 2026-2029 Hawai’i Poet Laurete, is based on the novel by Alden M Hayashi. It follows Ethan Taniguchi, a recently single gay man in New York City who gets an unexpected visit from his estranged mother from Hawaiʻi. The show runs Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday through Feb. 22. Tickets start at about $20. Details.
Yoga and sound healing at Full Circle Farm. Immerse yourself in nature at Full Circle Farm in Waimānalo. Experience a live sound healing with Bryan Jordan and a guided meditation with Julianne Spitzer. Open to attendees who are at least 12 years old. Attendees should bring a pillow and blanket. Tickets start at $35 plus taxes and fees. Details.
